Easy Crypto Raised $17 Million in Series A Funding

We are pleased to announce that we have raised NZD $17 million in a Series A funding, led by sovereign-backed Nuance Connected Capital. This round of funding was oversubscribed by 50%, meaning that Easy Crypto had significantly more interest from investors than what was hoped for.
We also seemed to have set a new record in New Zealand, where this Series A has been the largest first funding round ever completed by a New Zealand firm. Easy Crypto has not received angel or seed capital; founding siblings Janine and Alan Grainger have built the company so far without external help.
Our financial supporters now include Nuance Connected Capital, followed by the leading ethical KiwiSaver provider, Pathfinder, Icehouse Ventures, Even Capital, GDP Venture (Indonesia), Hutt Capital (US), and Seven Peaks Ventures (US).

A key milestone for New Zealand’s cryptocurrency sector
Institutional funding has great implications for New Zealand’s ever-accelerating cryptocurrency sector.
Our CEO Janine Grainger said, “The calibre of institutional investors and high level of interest demonstrates increasing confidence in the role of cryptocurrency in the financial ecosystem.”
Of course, the successful funding round for Easy Crypto is not the only evidence for increasing confidence in this nascent space.
Adrien Gheur, Founding Partner of Nuance Connected Capital said, “There is increasing global evidence of the adoption of crypto-assets & blockchain as a mainstream form of trade, payments and exchange.”
According to Adrien Gheur, the number of global crypto users is expected to grow 80% per annum in the next three years.
Our mission success is now several years closer
For Easy Crypto, this Series A funding means that we can achieve our goal to bring blockchain technology and financial freedom to the masses much faster.
With this funding, we will not only expand further outwards, but we will also be giving back to our customers by improving ourselves from within.
We will be refining our technology and human capital in order to upgrade the quality of our customer service. We will also be hiring and curating talent to ensure help is always given to customers who ask.
Additionally, now that Easy Crypto has become a global entity, we aim to continue strengthening our roots in compliance with the regulations in any jurisdiction where we operate.
Lastly, we aim to continue our pursuit of educating the public on all things crypto. We believe that knowledge is the key to forming a deep appreciation of blockchain technology and the crypto space with all its intricacies.
Who will walk with us to the future?
Here we are, eleven years after Satoshi Nakamoto’s release of the first crypto asset, Bitcoin, and we have seen financial institutions praising the new asset class. We should no longer question if crypto assets will stay in the future.
Instead, the right question to ask is “who”. Who will become the best bridge between the traditional bank and the crypto world? Who can you trust? Who can make it easy for you to invest in crypto assets?
To that end, Robbie Paul, CEO of Icehouse Ventures, gave a kind remark about Easy Crypto. “We have seen first hand the power of increasing accessibility to an asset class.”
“Easy Crypto’s approach of focusing on compliance, security, and a simple and beautiful user interface will serve them well in an asset class whose growth is massive despite being inhibited by a general lack of these features [in the asset classes]” he said.
If you have used Easy Crypto, and you’ve enjoyed the platform and found our customer success team incredibly helpful, please give us an honest review. This will help us greatly, and will also help others to know who they could trust.
Thank you so much for being part of this journey! Let’s continue to walk towards the next great milestone.
